Prize Home Overwhelm

Ever been lost for words? Like REALLY lost??
Yesterday, my cousin had that moment. He won a FREE HOUSE! Our local summer fair in Vancouver holds a lottery for amazing prizes, including a grand prize brand new designer home on its own water-view lot…along with other goodies thrown in like groceries, maid service, etc. Sure there are other lovely prizes, but the house is the big bling. Heck, I’d like the free maid service for a year!
Attending the fair this past weekend, my cuz and his girlfriend strolled through the prize home, and on a whim he bought some tickets. At odds of 1 in over 600,000 tickets being drawn, most people buy tickets thinking ‘Hey why not, someone has to win!’ Of course someone wins…but do you know those people? Now I do!
Reading his Facebook page, it’s amazing to see the outpouring of support for one of the nicest people I know. He is the most loyal of family members and friends – he is family I call ‘friend’ with a heart full of love and gratitude for having him in my life. He goes above and beyond, caring for the people in his life with honesty and integrity. After a few very challenging years behind him, he now has a loving long-term girlfriend, a new FREE house, and an open world. I am truly thrilled for him. So glad he had his overwhelming speechless moment…and on TV!
Looking forward to our family dinner this Sunday in his tiny one bedroom apartment – time to hear the story first-hand, and give him a huge hug!
So here’s what people so often overlook: overwhelm can be a good thing. We get overwhelmed at the beauty of life, the surprises that take our breath away, and the moments that awe us. Overwhelm can magically transform your life in a moment, providing opportunities and choices you didn’t have previously. Letting some good overwhelm into your life means being open to life changing for the better.
What are some moments when overwhelm flooded you with goodness, made you smile from ear to ear, and shifted your life in ways you only dreamed possible? Love to hear your stories….
